228 Chapter 11 Adjustment of one-touch middle thread guide 3. Adjustment of one-touch middle thread guide 3-1. Stroke adjustment of thread take-up spring Standard stroke (amount of thread releasing: 11 mm) is set at the shipment of the machine. It is possible to adjust the stroke of the thread take-up spring according to type of thread and/or fabric. [Standard stroke] When the hexagon wrench (1.5 mm) of 1 and 2 in the figure below are positioned in parallel, the thread take-up spring will become the standard stroke. [How to adjust] Loosening the fixing screw 3 by the wrench 1 and moving the wrench 2 up/down will change the stroke. After the adjustment, tighten the wrench 1 so that there is no play in right and left while pressing the spring collar 4 to the direction indicated by an arrow. 1 2 Increase stroke: The thread tension will be stronger. Decrease stroke: The thread tension will be looser. 1 3 2 Move up. → The stroke will decrease. Move down. → The stroke will increase. Do not loosen this screw. 4 QS04
