229 Chapter 11 Adjustment of one-touch middle thread guide 3-2. Tension adjustment of thread take-up spring Standard tension (3 to 5 g) is set at the shipment of the machine. It is possible to adjust the tension of the thread take-up spring according to type of thread and/or fabric. [Standard tension] When the hexagon wrench (1.5 mm) of 1 and 2 in the figure below are positioned in parallel, the thread take- up spring will become the standard tension. [How to adjust] Loosening the spring collar fixing screw 3 by the wrench 1 and moving the wrench 2 up/down will change the tension. After the adjustment, tighten the wrench 1 so that there is no play in right and left while pressing the spring shaft 4 to the direction indicated by an arrow. 1 2 2 1 Strengthen tension: The thread tension will be stronger. Weaken tension: The thread tension will be looser. 2 Move up. → The tension will be weak. Move down. → The tension will be strong. 1 3 4 QS04
