with the FAA, and so on. Don't be afraid to ask about acquaintances. This can be the quickest way to open new doors. As they say, it's not what you know so much as who you know. As you can see, Micro-Marketing is quite effective since it involves working a specific market in its entirety. But it's not limited to just a targeted Sales approach. It also applies itself to advertising. Rather than spending a large sum of money to advertise generically to a wide range of markets, its much more cost effective to target a specific market with a specific message that appeals to them. In fact, using our Aviation example, you should do a specific mailing to each subgroup in much the same way as you would present a sales pitch to that group. There are several programs on the Market that make it easy to create unique flyers and mailers that include graphic images of stitch files. Using a photo-quality inkjet printer, you can easily print out professional flyers, to be used for a direct mail campaign. And you don't have to mail out thousands of flyers to be successful. Using the Micro-Marketing approach, you may only be mailing 10 to 20 pieces at a time. Simply refer to the phone book and internet to generate your own Mailing List. If you are a member of the Chamber Of Commerce, obtain a copy of the member list. NOTE: Try to identify a specific person in the organization to address the flyer to, as this will greatly increase the chances of it being read. So now you have can see what Micro-Marketing is all about. It's a great method for making the best use of limited resources and is usually much more effective than randomly chasing after a variety of unrelated markets. Time is money, so make the best of it. Take a creative look at a specific market from multiple angles, make a plan, then throw yourself into it full-force. Leave no stone unturned. Work it until you are satisfied that you have covered all the bases. Then move on to another unique market. Keep that Tiger fed and never turn your back on it! www.hsi.us care@hsi.us 121
