Embroidery Software When looking for embroidery software, the primary issue is to determine what your current needs are and where you want to be in the future. Then look for a software that can start you where you need and can also provide other levels and other options to grow with you as your needs change. There are three basic types of embroidery programs available. 1. Lettering 2. Editing 3. Digitizing If your goal is to simply do personalization and merge in existing designs, then a lettering system might be all you need. If you need to make changes to existing designs, combine one design element with another or change settings, then an editing system is in order. If you feel like you would like to take control of some of your own design work, minimize outsourcing and be a full service shop, then a digitizing system will be a logical choice. Not all systems are created equal. Lettering represents approximately 80% of all embroidery so it is very important that you choose a software level that is well known for its lettering capabilities. If you are in a retail location and you want to minimize training, then you will want more of a point and click type of system where you build designs through a template rather than through tools and commands. The quality of stitches that your embroidery software generates will dictate the quality of the finished garment. It is very important to have the right software designed for the type of work and equipment that you are using. www.hsi.us care@hsi.us 14
