Poor Sewing Quality Registration Problems Loose Hooping. Re-hoop, being careful not to pull stretchy fabrics out of shape in an attempt to hoop tightly. Unstable Fabric. Use more or heavier backing. For more stability, use adhesive spray to fix backing to garment. Design Digitized Incorrectly. The design may need more pull compensation or underlay to accommodate stretchy or high-napped fabrics. Puckering Tight Tensions. Adjust tensions for both the specific garment and the thread. Loose Hooping. Hoop garment more tightly, being careful not to pull stretchy fabrics out of shape. Column Stitches Are Too Long. Re-digitize as fill stitching or two adjacent rows of column stitching. Dull Needle. Dull needles push fabric down instead of pushing between or piercing the weave. Replace the needles. Needle Breaks Dull Needle. Dull needles will blow in an effort to get through the fabric and eventually break. Change needle. Bent Needle. Always replace a needle if it hits or grazes a hoop or other hard object. Needle Inserted Incorrectly. Insert needle as described in your machine operator's manual. Make sure the needle is all the way into the needle bar shaft and the screw is tight. www.hsi.us care@hsi.us 221
