The VSS solution integrates a programmable sewing machine
with an industrial camera and custom software to automate a
traditionally lengthy process that requires highly skilled sewing
machine operators. It is a first-of-its-kind solution that automat-
ically generates a stitch pattern around the perimeter of any
emblem to be sewn so that it can be sewn to the garment.
In contrast to programmable machines that sew the exact
same stitch pattern every time, VSS leverages a sophisticated
onboard camera to quickly and automatically photograph the
patch and create a new stitch pattern for each individual emblem as it is
presented for sewing. This ensures consistently high-quality stitching
and appearance even where the size and shape of the emblem varies.
