Chapter 2 Basic Operations 2-10 Feed Correction Set- tings You can correct the media feed amount by printing a correction pattern. Correct the media feed amount to suit the type of media you are using. Unsuitable correction values may result in banding or other printing problems. Feed correction You can correct the media feed amount by printing a correction pattern. 1 Load the media. • P.2-4 [Loading Media] 2 With the screen in local mode, select [ ADJUST ]. • The adjustment menu is displayed. 3 Select [FEED COMP.], and then press the [ENTER] key. 4 Press the [ENTER] key to print the correction pattern. 5 Check the correction pattern. • A screen for entering the correction value is displayed 6 Enter a correction value. • Entering positive correction values: Widens the boundary between bands. • Entering negative correction values: Narrows the boundary between bands. • Changing the correction value by 30 adjusts the boundary width by about 0.1 mm. 7 Press the [ENTER] key. • Print another correction pattern to check. Correcting media-feeding during printing You can correct the media feed amount even in remote mode or during printing. 1 Press [ ADJUST] while printing is in progress 2 Enter the correction value, and then press the [ENTER] key. • Correction value: -9999 to 9999 • The value entered here is immediately applied to the correction value. 3 Press the [ENTER] key. • Your modified value is registered. • Corrections made here are only effective temporarily if you press the [END] key instead of the [ENTER] key. (The correction value is cleared when media is detected again, or when the machine is turned off.) • Roll media at the rear of the machine will not be taut after you perform feed correction and the media returns to the print origin. Manually rewind roll media before printing to keep it taut. Failure to observe these instructions may result in image quality problems. • Two bands are printed in the correction pattern. Adjust the feed amount so that the boundary between the bands has an even density. Second band First band Media feed direction
