Chapter 3 Settings 3-10 2 Place the ink pack and the ink IC chip in the eco ink cartridge case. •( P.1-12 「Replacing Ink」) 3 Insert the eco ink cartridge in the ink supply unit. 4 In LOCAL mode screen, select [MENU] > [Machine Setup], then press the [ENTER] key. • The Machine Setup menu is displayed. 5 Select [Eco cartridge] > [Case Weight], then press the [ENTER] key. 6 Select the required ink slot, then press the [ENTER] key. • The selected slot is highlighted. 7 Enter the measured weight of the eco ink cartridge case, then press the [ENTER] key. Correcting the Ink Cartridge Case Weight When the remaining ink level in the eco ink cartridge reaches a preset level, [Ink Level Low], [Ink Near End], [Ink Level End], or [Ink End] appears on the display. The weight may differ from the actual weight, so the weight of the eco ink cartridge should be corrected. 1 A warning appears on the display. 2 Remove the eco ink cartridge case in the indicated ink slot, and measure the weight. 3 Insert the eco ink cartridge in the ink supply unit. • The cartridge weight screen appears. 4 Enter the measured weight of the eco ink cartridge, then press the [ENTER] key. • The remaining ink amount of the ink pack is calculated and saved in the ink IC chip. • The weight of the eco cartridge can be registered as follows: (1) In LOCAL mode screen, select [MENU] > [Machine Setup], then press the [ENTER] key. ••The Machine Setup menu is displayed. (2) Select [Eco cartridge] > [Cartridge Weight], then press the [ENTER] key. (3) (3)Select the required ink slot, then press the [ENTER] key. •The selected slot is highlighted. (4) Enter the measured weight of the eco ink cartridge, then press the [ENTER] key. Setting the key buzzer You can turn off the buzzer sound that is played when keys are pressed. 1 With the screen in local mode, select [MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then press the [ENTER] key. • The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed. 2 Select [KEY BUZZER] and press the [ENTER] key. 3 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: ON / OFF Setting view feed Sets whether media feeding is performed in order to check test printing results, for example. 1 With the screen in local mode, select [MENU] > [MACHINE SETUP], and then press the [ENTER] key. • The MACHINE SETUP menu is displayed. 2 Select [VIEW FEED] and press the [ENTER] key. 3 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: ON / OFF Setting space feed mode Alters the feed method for blank space included in image data if there is no data to print. Data with wide margins can be printed in less time when set to [CONTINUOUS]. • Check the following when "ERROR614 Preservation Failure" appears: (1)Check to confirm that the eco ink cartridge was fully inserted. (2)Check to confirm the ink IC chip was installed correctly. • If non-actual weights are registered repeatedly, the ink IC chip can no longer be used. • Continuous printing is not possible when the warning is displayed. • Replace with a new ink pack when "Replace Ink- pack" is displayed. • Weight with the ink pack inserted. • Check the following when "ERROR614 Preservation Failure" appears: (1)Check to confirm that the eco ink cartridge was fully inserted. (2)Check to confirm the ink IC chip was installed correctly. • Setting the buzzer to OFF does not disable sounds for errors, warnings, or completion of operation.
