Chapter 3 Settings 3-6 Automatic nozzle checking (Cleaning Check) after auto cleaning can also be set. 1 With the screen in local mode, select [MENU] > [SETUP], and then press the [ENTER] key. • SETUP options are displayed. 2 Select a SETUP option from 1 to 4 and press the [ENTER] key. • The SETUP menu is displayed. 3 Select [AUTO CLEANING] and press the [ENTER] key. 4 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: FILE / LENGTH / TIME / OFF 5 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting values vary depending on your selection in the previous step. • For FILE: 1–1000 files • For LENGTH: 0.1–100.0 m (in 0.1 m increments) • For TIME: 10–480 min. (in 10 min. increments) 6 Select [TYPE] and press the [ENTER] key. • Select the type of cleaning and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: NORMAL / SOFT / HARD 7 Select [Cleaning Check] and press the [ENTER] key. 8 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: ON / OFF Interval wiping After the specified amount of time has elapsed, the head nozzle surface is automatically cleaned to remove ink droplets adhering to the nozzle surface. Set an interval in case of nozzle clogging, deflection, falling ink droplets, or similar symptoms. 1 With the screen in local mode, select [MENU] > [SETUP], and then press the [ENTER] key. • SETUP options are displayed. 2 Select a SETUP option from 1 to 4 and press the [ENTER] key. • The SETUP menu is displayed. 3 Select [INTERVAL WIPING] and press the [ENTER] key. 4 Select a setting value and press the [ENTER] key. • Setting value: 3–255 min. / OFF • Depending on the state of heads and other fac- tors, this function may not be able to restore print quality that has declined. In this case, con- tact your dealer, service office, or call center.
